SINGING

Exploring your singing voice is rewarding, fun, and feels great!  I guide you to find your balanced posture, your low breath, your core muscles, where your sound naturally vibrates in your body, and how all of that works together for your unique voice.  From there, you have a foundation for us to work from for your best singing.

You will learn about your body (instrument), and you’ll learn how to be your own best diagnostician and problem solver.  Something didn’t sound like you thought it should?  We can talk about why and find solutions.

I work with all skill levels from beginner to professional.  I’m here to support you in your singing goals – be that singing Happy Birthday with confidence, singing in more places than the car, or performing solo – in any genre.

Please note, lessons are unavailable for people under the age of 16.

TESTIMONIALS

Over the years, I've had many good singers as voice teachers, and I've been grateful for what I learned along the way. Then I took my first lesson with Amy. She's changed my approach to singing, unlocking the mysteries of posture and breathing and control, helping me to find a voice I didn't know I had. That's hard to beat!

I’ve been taking singing lessons with Amy weekly since January, and I truly can't recommend her enough. I used to sing a lot when I was younger but lost both my voice and confidence as a teenager. Amy has helped me reconnect with my body and discover a vocal strength I didn’t even know I had. Every lesson brings real progress — even though I’m still learning how to control my voice, it feels empowering to see how far I’ve come.

Amy brings so much warmth, humor, and wisdom to every session. She shares personal stories that make the learning relatable, and we always find moments for a little laughter along the way. She creates such a positive and supportive environment that even the most vulnerable parts of finding your voice feel safe, fun, and rewarding.

Amy also has a deep, systemized approach to vocal technique — teaching posture, breath management, and body awareness in a way that’s clear, practical, and tailored to where I’m at each day.
Through working with her, I’ve broken through myths I believed not just about singing, but about how my body works to create sound.

With Amy’s guidance, I’ve regained a confidence I wasn’t sure I would ever find again. Just last week, I found myself singing for hours at a friend's birthday party — something I would have been far too self-conscious to do before. In the past, I would have quietly mouthed the words or backed away, but this time, I felt free and had so much fun being part of it.

Even on days when I’m not feeling 100% (like after running the Esquimalt 5K or after a night of celebration!), Amy meets me where I am with patience and encouragement, making sure we have fun and explore what my body is capable of that day.

Working with her has been an incredibly empowering experience, and I’m so excited to continue this journey. Thank you Amy! ❤️

✨If you’re looking for a truly empowering singing teacher or vocal coach, I can’t recommend Amy enough!✨
